The PT .... series sack closing machines from Meypack offer a modular system for hermetically sealed closures of paper bags with plastic inner liner or coatings. The PT closure is a triple seal available in standard format or with an easy open feature. 
With the traditional open closure (PT) the multi-layer outer is stitched, a heat sealed tape is applied over the stitch line and the PE inner liner is hermetically sealed. The tape prevents the ingress of insects or other forms of contamination.
With the easy opening closure (PT-SOT, stitch over tape), the inner liner is hermetically sealed by heat and a crepe tape is applied over the sack top and stitched in position. The stitching can be easily removed by hand without the use of tools and without damage to the seal. 

Dual machines offer the choice of standard or easy open closure on one machine frame. The unit is equipped with two sewing heads and two tape applicators, with one of each mounted at the infeed and discharge of the machine. Changing from one closure type to the other involves a simple adjustment and can be completed in a few minutes.
